TOAD

The toad, was not the prince foretold by the books and stories with happy endings. As it turns out, many a time the story is changed. Exaggerated. Shifted to be a happy tale for children so that in years to come when times are rough they have a moment to look back on.

But some children, some are not so lucky. There are a few who hold on ever so tightly as they long for a glimmer of hope. And in their later years when most young girls and boys have grown and forgotten, they seek and the rare soul will in fact find, that tales can be true if only mildly, or very twisted.

So rather than a frog turned prince with a true loves kiss and a happily ever after as we were told, it happens that he is a toad who with one kiss grants the one who no longer wishes to live the gift of death.
